Quella che è una delle più grandi chiese gotiche del mondo (più di 500 anni per
completarla) non ha rosoni in facciata, ma ce ne sono tre bellissimi inseriti nelle
grandi vetrate dell’abside. Quello più originale è un particolarissimo rosone di
rotazione, in cui la sensazione di movimento è data dai motivi arcuati dei grandi
petali del contorno, appena campiti da nervature sottili, che definiscono un
disegno astratto e assolutamente nuovo.
Probably one of the biggest churches in the world (more than 500 years to complete
it), it has no rose windows on the façade but there are three beautiful ones in the
very big stained glass windows of the apse. The most original of them is a very
particular rose window that imparts a rotatory motion to the big arched petals set
around it, slightly delineated by thin ribbings that create an abstract and totally
new pattern.
